Gratitude
2020 has been an interesting year, to say the least. And we’ve all had to make a lot of adjustments to many things, including how we celebrate occasions with our friends and families. From drive-by birthday parades and trick-or-treating in one’s own house, to FacetTime baby showers, Zoom happy hours, and virtual wine-tastings, we’ve creatively innovated and found ways to still enjoy special occasions, despite our new normals. Thanksgiving will definitely look different this year for many people. But sharing the gratitude that makes up the fabric of this holiday remains a common tradition for most families. We asked a few of our Orbit Baby friends and fans to weigh in on what they are most thankful for.
I am thankful for the health of my family. I am thankful for that every year, but this year I have an extra special appreciation for those around me to be healthy and happy. -@faithcsmith
I am so thankful for my family. I know that sounds so basic. But I am thankful for my husband and my two daughters, and that we truly enjoy each other’s company. Being quarantined together can be a challenge- and it wasn’t always perfect- but I truly appreciate how we did new things and made the best of it. And we have about 30 completed puzzles to show for it. -@rmcknett
This Thanksgiving will be spent with our family in Florida. And this year is very different for us, since we became a family of 3 this fall. A tradition we have with our family is to go around at the dinner table and talk about what we are thankful for in the past year. Anything from small victories to blessings. -@olenalevan
I am thankful for the roof over our heads, and for the internet that allows us to meet virtually with our loved ones we can’t be with. David Bowie Bingo at 3:00 pm Central Time! -Niki Hughes
With the COVID-19 pandemic affecting so many jobs across the country, this year I’m just so grateful for the opportunity to work. I’ve been fortunate enough to be able to continue to support my family through 2020, and I don’t take it for granted for a second. -@leslietresher
